Riveting. And OMG, giving online advice in 4th grade? Lol. When I was in 4th grade I don't even think the FAX machine had been invented yet. Ha. Love it. Keep showing us the way, sister. xo
Fucking finally. Someone rips off the Instagram filter and shows the festering bullshit underneath. Substack better be ready for some actual human mess because I’m here for it
You’re speaking straight to my soul 🤍 I think we are the ones to turn the ship around - the ones who remember what the internet was like before, when it was all just the internet, we didn’t even call it social media, it was just straight up connection, first with ourselves, and then with the other people we invited into OUR WORLD. I moved my newsletter (hate that word) to substack about nine months ago, and for a brief period felt like I needed to “professionalize” it, now that it wasn’t literally just an email I send to friends each week. I hated that! I wrote like a robot! But then I remembered, I just need to write what’s inside of me. Thank you 🤍
Ummm YES!! Is it weird that I got teary eyed reading this!? You’re inspiring me to finally (FINALLY!) launch my Substack and speak my truth. Love you for this, Jordan! This is currently my favorite corner of the internet 🫶🏼
Hiii Jordan, Thank you for these uplifting words, I really needed the reminder to simply be myself. I'm being myself little by little hehe even though I mimic behavior. Sometimes I don't know what to say but everything is getting better for me. I've been creating posts on my journal to share here substack. I will be creating more writing to share and uplift people, *happy tears.
Yes yes yes!!! I feel like I’ve let years go by without truly honoring my creative side and I am so ready to bring it online more through Substack and other forms!
YES YES, And YES! We need more excitement and originality on the internet. I always loved the OG blogging and Insta days and lately I also feel so drained because it turned into an entire money making machine which is great but also not the core of it anymore. I‘m also so bored by all the ‚I tell you how to grow on here‘ platforms as well as the faceless accounts. Like what the heck🙈
I had to go back and finish reading because Tumblr alone gave me flashbacks. Xanga?! 😩 I had a flood of memories that gave me all the feels. I would love to see all three of those platforms reincarnated here with Substack. Especially as a newbie, who is focusing more on writing and not just social media.
"We’ve spent too long in the land of mirrors, bouncing the same ideas back and forth." Absolutely!! I am so over opening Instagram and feeling like it's just one big ad or affiliate link. Such a turn off! Give me those Tumblr, Xanga, Livejournal vibes please. Here for this!
I feel this on a soul level and I am SO excited and energized by the raw creative energy I’m discovering on here! And how much easier it is to find community. It feels supportive and kind, and we slowly lost that with other platforms over time. I love it here <3

I wish it could be less LinkedIn and a little more twitter. We need some Wild West up in this B.
