Hi besties!! Currently writing to you from the most gorgeous setting nestled in the Telluride mountains, lounging by the pool in the glorious sun. We are on a parents getaway, just me and Jonathan for the first time since having two kids. It has been amazing! We’re here for a dear friend’s wedding but we are spending the first few days unwinding, exploring, sleeping in, getting massages, and basically catching up on 3.5 years of relaxation and time together, lol.
Of course, I had to check in and write you guys a 12 things post!! I missed the last few Tuesdays because I have been so head down working on my BOOK, which is officially due in October and I cannot flipping wait, soooo we’re coming at you today with a rare & fun 12 Things Thursday. This is where I share all of my latest obsessions, musings, random thoughts, fun lil’ links, all the things. And fun fact, I’ve been writing these since 2013… can you believe?!?!
Do let me know any questions, thoughts, topic requests, and things you’re loving in the comments below. The very best thing about this blog revival thanks to the world of Substack is connecting with you guys and sharing blog comments back and forth like its the OG days again. Because it is, the new-old or the old-new OG days, that’s how I like to think of it at least!!
So, let’s get into it!!!!
12 Things Thursday!!!
There’s been a lot of talk lately in the spiritual community about the use of AI, and recent studies coming out showing that those who use AI in place of creativity (writing, mostly) are scoring much lower on brain wave & IG tests; while those who are still writing independently still show their brains lighting up in all the good creative places. I have so many thoughts on this, but my main thought is this — AI is still so new, especially using it in the ways that we can now with ChatGPT. We don’t want to be the first-ever generation of guinea pigs to use it with wild abandon without knowing the longterm repercussions. I use it sparingly, kind of like a much smarter version of Google, but never in place of creativity. What are your thoughts? We must never let anyone (especially a machine) take any of our true, deep, soul-led magic from us.
Telluride is GORGEOUS! I am very much a beach girl rather than a mountain girl, meaning I grew up going on tropical getaways and whenever I vacation now I typically choose to go to places like Hawaii, Bali, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Tulum, etc. You’ll sense a theme with me. I could’ve called my blog The Beachy Blonde back in the day. I say this to highlight that I’ve really never spent a whole lot of time in the mountains (aside from growing up near Lake Tahoe), and it is such a fun new experience. Riding the gondola into town feels like a little slice of magic, and I can’t believe so many people simply grew up living here?! It’s a special place and I am so excited to keep exploring it for the next few days.
Did y’all see my experience with Gel-X nails on my Instagram stories over the last few days? Oh LORD, lol. I am just a non-girly girl trying to do the cool things for once, so I went to get my nails done for this wedding a couple days ago. I was going to get regular gel as I often do, but then they asked if I’d like to do Gel-X for that longer nail pretty vibe. I said yes, I’ll try it!! So many influencers and friends I follow get the cutest long nails and I’ve been inspired.
Anyway… I should have known the moment the nail technician started placing little plastic-like nail shells over my nails that I was not going to like it. It felt like having a foreign object jabbed into my nail beds. And sorry if that sounds dramatic but it just isn’t for me, lol. Once the experience was over I loved the look of them (and I still do, currently typing with them as we speak) but they HURT like a mofo for a few days… like trying to use my nails to do anything/button a shirt/unzip my luggage was excruciating and impossible. Long story short, I went down a TikTok rabbit hole & realized a ton of people feel this way, and that Gel-X is commonly not the vibe!!!!! How did I not know thisssss lol. What are your thoughts, have you tried them?
Long story even shorter: they’re very cute but I can’t wait to get them off lol. I got a color called coco cloud with chrome over it and I LOVE the vibe so I will be taking all of the pics ;) but once these bad boys come off I will be very relieved.
I mentioned this a few weeks ago, but I get TONS of questions about our MCAS diet so I am mentioning again!! Both of my kids and myself have severe eczema, so as hard as the MCAS-diet can be to stick to sometimes, we have to be pretty rigid with it. One thing we’re loving and we make EVERY SINGLE DAY is Roots Farm Fresh fries!! They are the world’s ONLY organic, seed oil free fries. We buy them at Sprouts or Erewhon, but you can also buy them online!!
We love their classic, crinkle cut, and sweet potato fries as well as their tater tots AND their sweet potato toast. They even have sweet potato croutons! They’re also gluten free, vegan, allergen-friendly, no sugar added, and upcycled. They’re made with two ingredients: potatoes & avocado oil. You can use the code ROOTSGIVES at checkout to donate a pound of fresh sweet potatoes to food insecure families for every pound purchased. Cannot wait to hear your thoughts. My kids eat literal plates of them. <3
Speaking of health stuff, I am also about to start working with a macro coach. I’ve been inspired by my BFF Celeste who is 5 months postpartum with my niece Billie Blue and she looks AMAZING. Like she is radiating. I counted macros back in the day and it really worked for me, but I haven’t had a reason to jump back into it for a few years. Now that I’m almost a year postpartum (!!) for the second time, and I am still really really not feeling like my best self, I feel like it’s tiiiiime. I am super excited to begin and will report back on all the things!
On that note, I’m thinking of hosting a TBB summer challenge where we all dedicate ourselves to becoming our fittest, hottest (inside and out), happiest and healthiest selves. Who wants to join?!?! Weigh in below!! If you’re in, I’ll get it goin!!!! And kick it off with a post early next week!
I know I keep dropping the book club lore and haven’t officially started it yet, but the TBB Book Club will be OFFICIALLY starting on my Substack (for paid subscribers!) on Monday of next week!!!! Join us now for a super fun experience, and I will also do monthly video posts breaking down the book—which I think we can do live, you into it!?!?
It’s time for a veneer update!!!!! You know I got veneers with the incredible celeb dentist (and just the best human all around) Dr. Sam Saleh in May, and I have never been happier with my smile. I still will not ever believe how intensely pregnancies changed my teeth (they legit turned yellow and rotated so, so much even though I took great care of them) and it affected the way I felt about my smile so much. I am overjoyed with the outcome and cannot recommend Dr. Saleh more. Listen to him on my pod, episode 415!!!
I’ve been feeling the extreme desire to lean all the way into my Pleiadian channeling escapades and legit be the next Esther Hicks (but my own version) and nothing excites me more in the universe. You guys here for it?? Like we need weekly channeling live sessions and all the things.
On that note, also ready to dive deeper into my Akashic Records reading so I have recently started working with a mentor on that. <3
How are my besties!?!? How’s everyone doing?! Miss & love you, and want ALL your thoughts! Who’s here for the book club? And the Gel-X mani lore?? And be sure to check out the world’s best French fries with the code I gave ya. XOXO
excited to hear more about the macros coach and this summer challenge!
